Wii Remote now to be used to Defuse Bombs

Nintendo Wii was already proved as helpful for the patients suffering from several diseases. Now US scientists have adopted the remote controller of the Wii for deffusing bombs.

Reportedly, scientists from the US Department of Energy’s Idaho National Lab has revamped the Wii remote and has developed Packbot, a machine-gun-toting robot that can be used to defuse mines and bombs.

The Packbot can be used for several defense purposes such as disposing bombs, sniffing out explosives and checking for land mines.

The Wiimote is equipped with the motion sensor, which is used for playing Wii Sports games such as tennis, golf, bowling etc.

However, this is the first time, where such motion sensor remotes are used for focusing on data processing.
